Intel Xeon 6980P Processor: A New Word in High-Performance Computing
The Intel Xeon 6980P processor represents a new generation of server processors based on the Granite Rapids architecture. It is manufactured using the Intel 3 process technology, which provides high performance and energy efficiency. This chip is designed for the most demanding computing.
The processor is equipped with 128 cores and has 256 threads, which operate at a base frequency of 2 GHz. In Turbo Boost mode, the frequency is automatically increased to 3.9 GHz to accelerate the execution of complex tasks. This ensures a quick system response under peak loads.
The L3 processor cache is 504 MB. It minimizes delays in accessing data. 12-channel DDR5 memory controller with a frequency of 6400 MT/s provides high bandwidth. The processor also supports the new MRDIMM technology, which, thanks to its rank multiplexing architecture, allows you to achieve even higher speeds of up to 8800 MT/s.
The maximum amount of RAM is 3 TB. This makes it possible to work with large amounts of data. 96 PCIe lanes allow you to connect various peripheral devices, such as graphics accelerators and data storage systems.
The new LGA 7529 socket is specially designed for processors of this family. Heat dissipation is 500 W, which requires an effective cooling system. The Intel Xeon 6980P processor is suitable for tasks that require high performance and security.
